Community-Based Coastal Resource Management Project in Melgar Bay

This project is an integrated community-based endeavor focused on the coastal resource management with a livelihood component aimed to protect, conserve and rehabilitate the coastal resources of Melgar Bay. It envisions a community with a sustained environmental/coastal resource management program in partnership with the LGU and civil society organizations to improve living conditions in the three barangays of Municipality of Basilisa, Dinagat Island Province, covering the barangays of Geotina, New Nazareth and Sta. Monica.

Action for Conflict Transformation for Peace and Development (ACT for PEACE) Program
The ACT for PEACE Program is a peace-building and conflict transformation program that intends to respond to the complex situation in the Southern Philippines. AID Foundation serves as the lead agency of the Programme to be the Local Service Provider (LSP) for the Provinces of Agusan del Norte and Surigao del Norte covering 5 barangays per province, and has started it off with a program, “Social Preparation for Peace-Building Initiatives in Caraga Region,” for a range of ongoing, potential and post-conflict situations in the target areas. The support for physical and social reconstruction of areas affected by armed conflict is aimed at sustaining peace and building human security.

Mainit Community-Based Resource Management Initiative

The 3-year project is for environmental protection and conservation cum livelihood assistance activities, focusing on protection of ecosystem and biodiversity in Lake Mainit. We work in the influential areas specifically in the Municipality of Mainit, Surigao del Norte covering the barangays of Tapian, Tagbuyawan and Dayano.

Alliance for Mindanao Off-grid Renewable Energy (AMORE) Program

►DOE 21 Community Organizing for 21 barangays in Zamboanga Peninsula
AMORE Program is a 5-year project covering 21 barangays in the Zamboanga Peninsula and 15 Barangays in the province of Sulu. The aim is to contribute to the peace and development initiatives in Mindanao by improving the quality of life in un-electrified rural communities through the sustainable and renewable energy projects and the effective community organizing. Winrock International in partnership with AID Foundation has conducted the Baseline Survey of the 62 barangays in the provinces of Sulu and Maguindanao.

Support Training Intervention for Mindanao Uplands and Lumad Settlements (STIMULUS)
In partnership with the Philippine Development for Human Resources in Rural Areas (PhilDHRRA), the project aims to develop and empower selected Indigenous People (IP) communities in the Northern Mindanao. Specifically, the project provides education and training interventions to address the tribal community concerns on organizational management, resource management, food security maintenance, income/saving generation, literacy, health/nutrition and local governance. It covers four sites in Jabonga, Agusan del Sur; Malitbog, Impasug-ong and Talakag, Bukidnon.

Integrated Development Assistance for Mamanwa Tribal Communities Project
The project was designed to contribute to one of the objectives of the Strategic Guidance Framework (SGF) outlined by the Philippine-Australia Community Assistance Program (PACAP), which aims to improve rural living standards by building up accesses to services and by addressing local-level constraints to rural income growth and human development. There were seven (7) capacity enhancement activities such as SALT and Agroforestry trainings, Primary Health Care, Livestock and Poultry Management, Health and Nutrition Trainings and Organizational Management and Development training.

Northern Mindanao Community Initiatives and Resource Management Project (NMCIREMP)
“Poverty situation of rural households alleviated” is the ultimate goal of the project. The Project promotes the facilitation of the Sustainable Integrated Area Development (SIAD) framework as an approach in the empowerment of the people, especially to the less privileged, which is the focal point of development efforts. It was implemented by the Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) as the Lead Agency. AID was contracted as Operational NGO to implement the Community Institutions and Participatory Development (CIPD) Project Component or the Municipalities of Lianga and Marihatag of Surigao del Sur and for Libjo and Basilisa of Surigao del Norte.

Local Economic and Development (LEAD) for Health Project
LEAD for Health Project is implemented by the Management Sciences for Health and by AID Foundation as the Service Implementing Organization (SIO) in the provinces of Agusan del Sur and Agusan del Norte. The project aims to 1) strengthen local level support for, and the management and provision of Family Planning (FP), Tuberculoses (TB) and other health services 2) support the improvement of national-level for policies for increased financing of FP and selected health services of LGUs.

Integrated Rehabilitation Program for the Internally Displaced persons and Communities of South & North Cotabato
The Program is in support to the Government of the Philippines – United Nations Multi-Donor Program Phase by addressing the relief and rehabilitation requirement of at least 10,000 internally displaced persons in Southern Philippines while capacitating them to provide the culture of peace in the area and strengthening the different support mechanisms and institutions.

The Rafael M. Salas Population and Development Award (RMSPDA) is a yearly prestigious award by POPCOM (The Commission on Population of the Philippines), which aims to perpetuate the legacies of Mr. Salas by honoring and giving due recognition to individuals/groups for their outstanding achievement and contributions in the field of population and development.
